Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary!

Tomorrow, October 21st, is Chris and my 2nd wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's already been 2 years that we've been married because the wedding day seems like just yesterday. But then it's also like, 2 years?, that's all, I feel like I've been with Chris forever (in a good way) However, this December will mark our 4th year "together" I keep re-doing the math on that, but it's true, 4 years, just feels longer. But then again, we were good buds over a year before that so....yeh.

Anyhoo, it's been 2 years now! I'm very excited, we both have the whole day off! Chris' class was cancelled, so now we can have dinner together, I'm pretty sure we're going to Victoria's, cuz we like it and we went there last year for our 1st anniversary too!

I love my husband very very very much, he's my very bestest friend and I'm so excited for our whole lives together as husband and wife. The longer we're married, the better it gets, in my opinion, heehee. I love you Chris, happy anniversary!!!

More Fun News!!!

It has happened. My baby brother Brice (22) has asked his girlfriend Jenny (22) of almost 4 years to marry him! And, she said yes, of course!

It was a delight to meet Jenny 4 years back when they were seniors in high school. I met her at Caribou when they were on the brink of "dating" which was like 14 days before Chris and I started dating. She was very sweet and friendly. I was first curious about this Jenny girl when Brice told me he was headed off to the athletic club (in Rochester) for a "tour". I was like "ok, you're getting a tour of the club? Why?" He replies, "A girl from school, Jenny, works there and is giving me a tour, for fun." Hmmm....I think, this is odd, obviously he didn't need a tour, so I figured there was something going on with him being interested in this girl. Turns out, he was! It's been fun getting to know Jenny over the years. I don't see either of them as much as I'd like, but at least they're only an hour or so away (please don't move guys!) heehee.
The first thing I noticed besides Jenny's wonderful personality and beautiful face, was her laugh. It's hard not to laugh too when Jenny starts to laugh, it's quite infectious, heehee. I also noticed that she gave hugs to Dad and Gavin right away and made them feel very comfortable with her. I could tell that they too noticed that Jenny was very specail! She's goofy like Brice and makes him laugh. I can tell Brice has no problem being his total "special" self around her, so I am very glad she'll be an official family member! Yay!

It was fun getting being on the "inside" with Brice and he planned out when to get the ring and how and where to ask her parents for permission and how to ask Jenny herself. It all worked out perfectly at an apple orchard, how sweet!

Ok, this is getting long, but I'm excited. It seems weird though.....I know I got married at 22, but he's my baby brother! How can he have grown up too?!

Here's some pics I stole from Jenny from the engagement day, Sunday Oct. 12th....

Our lil' Baby

Here is our 1st ultrasound at about 9wks. It hardly looks like a baby, but we were excited to see it for the first time!!!
And here is our ultrasound today, at almost 13 weeks! And, he or she looks like a baby! The leg is very hard to see at the end there, but when she had the ultrasound on me, you could see the baby kicking it's legs around a lot! And also kinding jumping like a jumping bean. It was so cute! You could totally see it's profile, a nose, mouth and eye sockets. In this picture, it's head is turned a bit toward us, you can see a black circle where the eye is. It was really cool to see the lil' bugger jump around but it was a bit too early to hear it's heart beat, but we saw it. Every thing looks good and all is fine! Yay! I'm so excited to watch it grow! Our next appointment it at almost 17 weeks and then we'll have a special ultrasound around 18 to see if it's a boy or girl. So, five more weeks until then. I'm in my 2nd trimester now and so far it's brought better luck than the 1st trimester. I haven't thrown up in like a week now and the past 2 days have felt the best in a looooong time. I still feel a bit weird right now for whatever reason and I get hungry sooner.
Ok, well I hope you like the pics and I shall keep em coming cuz our doctor said she'd do an ultra sound every month, fun!
I'm at work until 11:00p tonight, hurry up time! I wanna go home!
Love ya alls.

Finished................

The end of my senior year of highschool, 2002, I started reading the Harry Potter books, with much reluctance and skepticism. The books had already been out for a few years and I had acutally started the 1st book when it came out, but didn't like it (after like a 1/2 chapter). I decided that "magical books with dragons and spells and wands' were not my style.

Then a few years later I decided, since the whole world seemed to love these books, that I would give them an honest try. Soon, after getting past the 1st chapter, I discovered that I was reading the best book I had ever read! It wasn't just dragons and spells, it was a super interesting and creative book about characters that seemed so real.

Since books 1-4 were already out, I read them back to back to back to back. Then I realized I'd have to wait a whole year before the next book! And so, since then I've been waiting year by year to finish the books. The first movie came out and I was very impressed. I seriously felt like I was watching my imagination being played out on screen.

For some reason, I didn't start the 7th and last book until almost a year after it came out. However, during the last few weeks, I have been reading it like a maniac, when I had the chance. And tonight, at work, as my patient slept, I finished the last 2 chapters! Many of my theories/guesses about how it would all end, were true, but better! And, as the last sentence of the last Harry Potter book says, "All was well".

I'm glad to be done, cuz all is well now with the characters, but it's sad that the story's over. But it was time too I suppose.

For those of you who have never read, you think I'm probably a little too into the books, but for those of you who have, you know how it feels! It's the best series ever! You should read them, kids, adults, whoever, you'll like it. Just get past the first chapter.

~10 mintues left of work and then a glorious 3 days off!

~That is all my friends, for now.

Another evening at St. Mary's

I dunno why I'm even bothering to blog, cuz I have nothing exciting to say. I'm just a bit bored.

I am sitting here on my evening shift in a room with my patient. I need to be in here with her at all times because she's intubated, but quite asleep right now.

I have done a lot with her tonight and now, there's not much left to do but let her sleep. It's been a nice shift though, no running around with my head cut off and no delerious patients. I am still messed up from the weekend of course. Monday night I couldn't fall asleep until like 3:00am and last night I went to bed at 2:30am. Now this is partially my fault because I am almost finished with the last Harry Potter so I read until my eyes could take no more. Then I read more on my break tonight and I have like one chapter left, ahhhhh, it was very hard to stop reading. So, I'll have to finish that tonight. I want to finish it, yet it saddens me, as this is the last book. I started reading them in 2002, so it's been Potter books for 6 years now for me. They're so good!

On Monday, after I woke up in the middle of the day, Chris and I went to Austin to celebrate Laura's birthday, she's 13, today actually. We took her to Applebees and the waitress was very nice to let her have a dessert 2 days before her real b-day. Then she opened her presents, a few shirts from Aeropostle (her request) and then a new purse filled with fun little things to open (i.e. nail polish, chap stick, earrings, and such) I had much fun picking everything out. Then we all had cupcakes. Afterwards, Chris and I hung out at Katie's place (his 26 yr. old sis) and talked with her for an hour or so, it was fun! Then Chris accidentaly threw my camera in the garbage can of an Austin Kwik Trip, long story, not his fault. So, we called (we realized it once we were back in Rochester), they fished it out, and we picked it up the next day, fun huh?! Well at least I got it back safe and sound!

I am so hungry/naseuos right now, I can't explain it, it's a weird feeling. But I just wanna go home now! I have about 40 mins. left, assuming the next person comes on time at 11:00. I am looking forward to Friday, Sat, Sun, cuz I dont't work and Saturday is Brice/Dad's b-days! They will be 22 and 50 and we're having a party for them at my Mom and Dad's house. It's just nice to be there and see all the relatives, especially Brice since I don't see him much! There's a rumor Ryan and Katie are coming from Missouri, I hope it's true!

Well, I spose I'll go now and try to think of something to do.

See ya!

Awake at the Wrong Time

Greetings one and all...

5:00am is when I should be snuggled in bed, but here I sit at a computer at St. Mary's Hospital.
Yep, it has begun, the overnights. Now that I'm off orientation, I gotta do my part and be here every 6th weekend overnight.

I really dislike it, I'm so tired and exhausted, even though I did get 6 hours of sleep before I came here. But for the first overnight I did not get any extra sleep, so I think it all adds up to not enough sleep.

My patients are ok, they're pretty busy/needy and one keeps shifting herselt to the foot of the bed and sideways, nice. I just gave her some happy sleepy medicine, it is helping slightly. I just don't get why she'd rather be awake, just close your eyes and sleep!

Today I woke up at 2pm and slugged around for a while. Then Chris' brother, Dustin called. He's in town for just the day after just getting back from Marines training! He goes back home to Decora tomorrow, so we were glad he called! We had supper/dessert and it was delish. Then I had to go to work.

It doesn't feel like the next 2 hours wil ever pass. I just wanna sleep! I am the only stinking person sitting out here in the pod and am watching a bunch of lights for people, erg.

Ok, well before I know it I'll be in bed and I won't have to do this again for 6 weeks.

Bye and sweet dreams.

And Now For A Well Kept Secret...

Many of you are my friends/family, so many of you already know this, but let's just make it internet official... (my apologies if you're upset by finding out on the internet)...

Chris and I are having a baby!!! A lil' teeny tiny baby. We discovered this fun fact on August 17th. It feels forever ago! I am officially 11 weeks and 1 day pregnant, which just so happens to be the exact day that the baby is considered a 'fetus' and no longer an embryo.

We are due to be parents on April 23rd, 2009! We are going to find out if it's a boy or a girl, which we can do in like 6-7 weeks and we'll let you know what we find out! I feel like everyone already knows all this, but oh well.

I started getting nauseous around 7 or 8 weeks along. I went a whole week constantly sick and throwing up. Now I have normal days and nauseous/throwing up days. Its very unenjoyable, but at the same time, I don't mind, cuz it's a good sign I'm pregnant! I also have many other symptoms that my Mayo baby books says I may have. I have to go to the bathroom everynight in the middle of the night, it's hard to fall back asleep, my heart pounds hard and fast, I get short of breath easily, and I have a lot of headaches! I'm very textbook in my symptoms. I feel like I can't plan anything in advance cuz who knows if I'll be throwing up that day! Yuck. My cousin Megan got to be here on a day I threw up a lot.

I'm going to be gross here, but I can cuz it's my blog. Here are some fun places I've thrown up: my car, alone, while driving, my yard, the bushes in our parking lot, at work, Carlos O' Kellys, the parking lot of Chateau Theatres, and Quiznos (in the bathroom of course). And, obviously, my home and other people's home toilets. Yes! I love it. So there, now you know. It's really fun, especially in the car, now I keep a bucket in there.

We have an ultrasound from our 1st appointment, which was at 9 weeks. The baby looks like an apple with a leaf for a head, but it's so small and cute and we saw the heart beat! I am normal and so is the baby, so well keep praying for the same!

Since we're all about NOT keeping anything to ourselves for some reason, here are the names we plan on using;
Boy: Peyton Wayne Lewis
Girl: Audrey Joanne Lewis

We wanted to be able to honor our grandparents by using their names as middle names. Joanne and Wayne, we felt, blended best with the first names we like. But hopefully we can use all the gradparents names someday, although, do we want 4 kids? Probably not!

Many people say, "it's a girl" and only a few have said boy. Obviously no one knows, but it's fun to guess. Chris and I both think it's a girl, for whatever reason.

It's been fun getting the word out to family and friends. Everyone is so surprised and excited. We feel so blessed that there will be so many wonderful people around to care about our baby too!

Kelsey and Jeff gave us a very cute and soft baby blanket and a teething ring, Kellie bought the cutest unisex overalls for a baby, and Mom and Dad got us a cute little butterfly rattle/teething ring. It's super fun to get presents for the baby already because it makes it seem more real.

Ok, well I better get back to work here, but I thought I'd use the rest of my break to share the news! Updates to come of course. Now I have something more fun to blog about!

Love you all.

Love Brianna and lil' baby. heehee.
