A Special Day

Today was neato. First, Chris and I went to pick up Gavin from his friend's house. We all three went to B-Dubbs, it was yummy, Gavin got wings, of course. Then Chris dropped me off at Target, to meet Kellie and Jill, while he and Gavin went and rented a PS2 game to play.
Kellie, Jill, and I bought supplies to make cream cheese mints and pickle hams for Christmas Eve. We came over here to to my place to make them. Everything I do with Kellie and Jill turns out to be fun, funny, or just a good story to tell, and today turned out to be no different.
Susan gave us excellent direction as to how to make the mints, but of course, it didn't go so smoothly. We had to mix powdered sugar and cream cheese to make a play-doh like dough. But no, all it is tiny balled up cream cheese chunks laying in a bowl of powdered sugar. We had to call Susan at work twice for reassurance that indeed we where making it correctly. Turns out you have to mix it for like 10 minutes and then use your hands to make it even more like. Somehow the dry balled up power magically turned to dough. We had fun choosing flavors and colors. We ended up with purple raspberry gingerbread men, green mint leaves, and red french vanilla hearts. Then I thought it would be fun to combine green and yellow to make a 4th color. It turned out looking like diarrhea, so yeh, I made one leaf outta that just to be funny. So, some lucky family member shall be blessed by the poo colored leaf. Us girls hung out for a bit, then they went home for din.
Soon Cara's coming over to watch a movie with me, yip yip. Oh, last night was fun too, I went to Kellie's meet and then to Happy Feet with Cara!!! Fun!!!
I work 7a to 7p Sat and Sun and 7a to 3:30p on Christmas, puh. Oh well, it'll be ok, my family's making little adjustments so I don't have to miss everything, but I will miss waking up with my husband on Christmas morning :( but we're gonna do presents on the 26th.
Here are some special pictures from today with my cuzzins!
Kellie cannot get the consistency right and I had to step in and help.

This will eventually be dough? ok...

Tis the season to eat paint chips

Saturday. 11.53 pm. year, 2006.
Today was the...........PROGRESSIVE DINNER!! I love the progressive dinner, I'm sure I wrote about it last year. It's something we do on the Hemmer side. First we go to Susan's and have hor'deurves. YUM! Then we go to my Mama's house and have the famous wild rice soup and sandwhiches! Finally we go to Julie's and have dessert!! I just love hanging out with my family. We stayed at Julie's quite a while, since it's the last destination. At Julie's we do an ornament exchange. Everyone brings a wrapped up ornament and we put them all in a pile and everyone draws a number. When your number is up you either un-wrap an ornament or take one you like from someone else. I was the second last to go and I chose to steal from my mom. I thought for sure I'd get to keep it, but then Susan was last and she stole from Kellie, so then Kellie stole from me! So, I stole from Gavin after he agreed to then steel my ornament back from Kellie. Hahah, I ended up with the one I wanted, thanks to Gavin's trade! There's no friends in the ornament game!!! muahahahahahha. Welp, here are the pictures of the ornaments Chris and I got! And then some random picutres of me because I'm bored.

The Ornament I Won!!!

The Cute Santa Chris won!!!

This is how I felt when Kellie tried to steal my ornament

Overnight at Mayo

Hello all. I am sittin' here at work, on my 2nd overnight. Last night flew by, but tonight it's only 1:00 and I'm already bored, welp.... 6.5 hours to go.

Brice just sent me this link and it made my day. It really made me miss being a little kid. Go to the link and if you remember what it is you get a million points. It's a show Brice and I used to watch all the time, probably early 90s.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWeGAloHOAY

Today was okay. Went to bed at 8:00a and got up around 2:00p. I hung around, made cookies, and went to Panera with Chris. Then before I knew it, it was time to come back to work. I have the next 2 days off, so that's good, but 1/2 of Monday will be used up sleeping, pooh!

Working overnights isn't really the end of the world though, it has the potential to be a lot more peaceful than a 12 hour day shift. Tonight my 4 patients are sleeping away, at least so far. Last night they were a little difficult.

Well, I think I'll go check on everyone again. One patient down the hall just got Denny's take-out from his dad and it smells good!!!! Yep, he's eating supper at 1:00am.

See ya all later!!!
PS: Like my Christmas colors?
PSS: Make sure to tell me if you remember the show on the link!!!

A New Day Has Come

When I went to write a new blog, it gave me the option to update, so I did. All I've discovered so far is that I can keep the same template (the all black one) but change the colors and fonts so they default that way. Fun fun. Hope you like colors, I'll probably change them a lot! Whoot!

I just got back from lunch with my Papa. We went to Carlos O' Kellys, that's our place we like to go. Chris just got home from school and now he's studying. Tonight I'm going to girl's night at Cheri's and I will see Cara! I haven't seen Cara since the night of October 21st. So, it's been a while! Yip yip. I will also see my mama! Whoop!

Yesterday I had lunch with Mom and Gran. We went to Panera! Then we went to Wally South and they had a movie I was looking for that Wally North did not have. Now, I like to think of Wally North as MY Walmart, but yesterday, it let me down and South came through...hmmm.

On Tues. I had lunch with Christopher at Culvers (Roast Beef Day). I just realized I've gone out to eat everyday pretty much. Wowee. Sure beats turkey sandwiches, blah.

Today and tomorrow are my weekend because I work this weekend. Saturday 7p to 7a and Sunday 7p to 7a. This means I work overnight! Ick. I only have to do this once every 6 weeks, so that's nice. The first night is hard and I get groggy, but the 2nd night is better. It's weird to come home from work on Mon. morning and go to sleep until like 1 or 2 in the afternoon.

Well, that is all folks. Have a wonderful end of the week and good luck to all you semester-finishing-uppers! I'm so proud.

Cheesecake roasting on an open fire.....

Hello and good evening (say in Vampire voice)

Last Tuesday I took a small jaunt over to Winona (Wynona, haha) to visit my 2nd homeland which holds within its city walls two great citizens: Casey Bish and Hut Ta-louge. They were and I still refer to them as, "the roomies". Kelsey also falls into this category.
I left around supper time to get to Winona in time to watch Gilmore Girls with Casey. Before long Heather got back from class and watched with us on Bish's old TV that gives everyone a "just-sun-burned-look" it's a'ight though. Then I met their roomie Brooke, she is nice. The four of us went to Culver's, just like old times, and got some de-lish frozen custard.
Then, in the midst of fun and games, tragidy struck the small river town.....BISH HAD LOST A MITTEN!!! What to do....it was no where to be found! Later on Bish decided she could not sleep until she had exhausted all the nooks and crannies, so we ventured back outside in the frozen tundra that is Minnesota and low and behold, there in the street lay a black wet blob: BISH'S MITTEN. SUCCESS!!! Casey was then able to sleep.
I slept on the floor in Hut's room on the couch cushions. We watched about 2o mins. of a movie before I, the one who got up at 5:45am, fell asleep at about midnight I'm embarrased to say.
The next day the girls and I went to campus so I could see the new updates, pretty sweet. I like how my last year at Winona was filled with construction and demise and now it's beautiful. Oh well. Then we went to...drum roll....CHULA!!! Yes! Brianna and the Pico Paco are reunited! Yummy. Thanks Hut for willingly going with us! Yum.
Then we finished up the movie and I headed for home, Roch that is.
Here are two pictures I hacked from Hut's blog that I think you will greatly enjoy..

Brie and Hut

BISH practically begged me to sit on her...

This weekend has been cool. I have done some shopping and such. Last night I hung out with Kellie and Jill. We ate at Applebees and managed to spend nearly an hour at Target, I love that store. Then we went to my mom and dad's house (I feel dumb saying that) and soon Chris came over and we all four played Cranium. Jill and I beat Chris and Kellie (the college kids) hahah! Yes! Then Jill went to watch a movie with Dad and Gavin, so Mom joined us and we played 3 rounds of Catch Phrase. Chris and I won 2 and Kellie and Mom won once. It was FUN! Yay! Oh, then we quick played Kerplunk. hehehe. I think Chris won. Today we went to church and then to the mall. Afterwards, my aunt Susan and I went on a mission to buy a Winter/Christmas flag for the cute little flag holder she bought me. I got a cute one. We also shopped around at Pier One and Crafy Mouse, it was fun!!! Later on, I went to my old home, Chris was working, and we had pancakes, then me and my dear wonderful parents went to a movie. The movie was called Deja Vu, with Denzel Washington, wow, a very good movie, I liked it a lot, you should go! It's one of those creative movies that makes you think a little, like, ok, what just happened? And it was very clean too, which is a bonus.
Now, Chris and I just got back from getting a few groceries. I fail miserably at grocery shopping. I was bad at it in college and just assumed I'd get better, but no. Chris just walked down here to check on me, he's so sweet, I love him. He's upstairs playing Risk on the computer and I can hear him talking every so often. He says stuff like, "Ugh, no way!" When the computer player takes over one of his countries or something, hehehe.

Welp, I better get ready for bed and hang out with my husband before he falls asleep or somthin'! Pray for Chris this week, it's a toughie!!!!

Love ya all! Here are some more pics for your viewing pleasure... bye!

First picture on my new camera from Mom and Dad for a wedding present!

Some Events as of Late

Hello all. Here's a nice little update. Thanksgiving was a lot of fun! We all went over to my aunt Julie's for a yummy din din. We hung out there pretty much all day, which is fun. I went to the park with my two cousins. Yes, the three of us, 15, 17, and 22, were playing at the park! Chris had fun playing football with my brothers and cousin Ryan. I love getting together with all my family! Then Chris and I went to say hello to his mom and sistersin Austin. We first went to his mom Linda's, then later went to his sister Katie's place. It was fun, we hung out with her and talked for quite a while. She's taking good care of Chris' cat Nugs, except he has gained weight since Chris last had him, hahah, but that must just mean his is loved.

I cannot remember which day it was....but Gavin was our first sleepover at our townhome. He slept over on the couch! We watched some episodes of The Office and just hung out. Well, here are some picutres....

This is what Chris, Gavin, and I did when he came over, sorry mom, I let Gavin do whatever he wants when he comes over...

Just Kidding!!!! It's sparkling apple juice!!!! yum yum.

One Month!

It's our one month anniversary! I cannot believe it's already been a month. One month ago today we were all out dancin' it up at the reception! Times goes sooooo fast! Chris came home from school tonight and he had in his hand this pretty peach rose for me. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever :) I really love my husband :) It's feeling good to be here in our townhome. It's so much better now that everything is put away and situated. It feels like a home and not a storage unit now. The furniture completes everything and it's all very cozy now. Chris and I have been able to find bit and pieces of time together to hang out inbetween both our jobs and his huge job of school. Last night was fun, we got to watch a movie, Failure To Launch. Chris stayed awake for the whole thing! Tonight we went to McDonalds, after I got the flower, and we got pop and sat and chatted for a while. It was nice and fun. Now Chris is working on homework and I am watching "Little People" and thinking about getting ready for bed so I can maybe get up at 5:45ish with less pain. Well, that's my little update. I am just very thankful today for how blessed my life is. I have a wonderful husband that I love with all my heart, an amazing family, amazing friends, a good job, and a home! I also have the hope and joy of Jesus Christ in my life which makes all of my life worthwhile and purposeful. I hope you all have a good holiday!!! God bless. Love, Brianna.

DISH IT UP!

Today Chris and I went to Dish It Up. What is that you ask? Well, I will tell you. Dish It Up is a business near Chateau Theatres in Roch. You go there and make food. It's really really cool. You get an apron and hat and then go around the place to different stations where the food is set up for you to make. It's like a cooking show were all the ingredients are in cute little cups and such. You put everything together with the detailed instructions they give you to follow. It starts with telling you what you need. So you go to a supply shelf and get like a container, bowl, and spatula. Then you follow the instructions and mix the stuff together. Then you label it and it gives you instructions on how to bake it once you get home, then move on to the next station! We got to make 8 different meals and seriously, they're huge. This food will last us FOREVER. We got a gift certificate for this place from the Erickson side as a shower present. It ended up being a perfect gift, because we could sure use a lot of food at no cost to us! So, we greaty thank everyone who contributed to this wonderful gift to us! We had a blast making the food, it was something new and different to do together and we really loved our first meal we tried tonight. Thank you!!! Here are some pictures from our night. I forgot my camera so I have no pics from Dish It Up, but here's what I got......
