A Reflection of Father's Day and Then Some Random Blabbering.

Me and my brother/teammate for the wooden game, we lost, sad day, but we're still able to do weird dance movements.
Well there ya have it. It's nice to have a fun day thrown in there with all the difficult days of orientation. This week, I am working allllll week, it's hard, lemme tell ya. Today I left feeling dizzy, exhausted, and with a pounding headache. Perhaps I was hypovolemic and hypoglycemic. I bet my blood sugar was like 50 and my heart rate was racing, heehee. Anywwaaayyssss...Now I am home, layed on the couch for an hour, took advil, and ate some food. I am NOT studying tonight, I will not. But I do have my EKG test-out on Tuesday, so eventually I will have to get my butt in gear. Although I have been studying so it's kinda already in gear, just not today. I play volleyball tonight @ 8p, kinda late huh.
Soon Chris and I are going to Tinns, I have a buy one get one free, which is why we're doing it! This is all way outta order, chronilogically speaking, but today on my break I went and visited my old ortho. floor I saw many peeps I worked with and it was very nice to see them. I talked to Anne for a while (hi Anne!) and she said I should my blog, so here I am. I also had a lil' eval. review with my old manager. Today was also my Week 4 review with my preceptor/nurse educator. Apparently I am where I need to be at week 4, but by Week 8, there shall be much more expected of me and by Week 12, I must be a genious.
Ok, that's all for now folks. I am excited for the end of August and that's all I have to say. Wish me luck, I'm just trying to block the continual "I wanna quit" thoughts from my head. I can do it, right?! MMMkay....bye friends.

More Drugs Than I Can Handle

Hello all...

I don't update anymore becuz here's the deal: I either have class or a day shift Mon-Fri. I then work out, come home, eat supper, study, and hopefully do at least one fun thing like go to Dairy Queen with Mom, Dad, and Chris, or play volleyball, or go on a leisurely walk. Then I ready my clothings for the next day, set my backpack up, and pack a lunch. Then I am amazzzzzingly in bed by at least 11, but often times by 10:15ish, this is a huge accomplishment for a girl that usually went to bed at midnight. By it doesn't take much effort. Getting up everyday before the roosters makes me truly tired! So, in conclusion, blogging is a luxury that I cannot afford. Except for right now cuz we got out early today and I'm not making supper and I may just study a little less tonight.

I work tomorrow on the floor and then I have Sat/Sun off. Then, it's a big one, I work at day shifts 7-3:30 on the floor. Never have I worked 5 days in a row on the floor. Yikes.

Today, class was so cool. We went to a place called the simulation center. There are simulated patients in a patient's room with all the normal things in a room. These dummies breathe, blink, have a beating heart, have pulses, their neck veins pulse, their eyes dilate and contricts and they react to what you say! So if you say "I'm giving you metoprolol" Their heart rate will drop. Then there are often real people behind a dark window that are the live "voice" of the patient. We didn't do a lot with the dummies today, but we will do more later on. Today our "lady" spoke to us and told us she had chest pain. We had to get her vitals, lay her down, give her nitroglycerin and metoprolol, talk to her and order a 12-lead, hahaha. It was funny. They really want us to pretend it's real. We had 9 stations today learing about different things. It was extremely helpful to SEE the stuff we hear out lecuturers go on and on about.

I wish I would have done all this during the February session, insted of in the summer, it's hard to stay inside and study, bah. Oh well. It's tough though, it's a ton of info and drug to know and what to do! I'm done late August, so I guess I have a bunch of time left to learn.

Casey left for Kansas this weekend so I got to see her for a while this weekend. I also saw Kels and my cousins a bit too. What else have I done? I dunno. Mostly going to class and work.

Welp, I'll leave it at that. Have a lovely week!

Heather's 24 Today!!!

This is me and my friend Heather. We became friends in 9th grade. I got to thinking, hmm, how old we were in the beginning of 9th grade and I realized, we were 14! Can you believe that? 14 when you start high school, wow. Therefore, we have now hit the 10 year mark (well technially in September) but we're both 24 now so close enough! Thanks for being such a good friend for 10 years and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!! Love ya friend!!!

Still Here

My uncle Rick told me I should at least write to say I'm still here....

I have been so busy! Working/Classes Mon-Friday and fun things to do on the weekends.
This past weekend was filled with fun stuff. On Saturday was Chris' best man Keith's wedding to Amy! Chris was in the wedding and I got to watch! They had a reception/dance in Stewartville after their backyard wedding. It was all quite fun and I met a lot of peeps I never met before. Also, Amy's mom, whom I've met once, briefly, before kept pulling me out to dance, she was hilarious. Chris and I were there till midnight :)
Sunday was Gran and Gramp E's 50th wedding anniversary along with a big party for them. It was so fun to see all my family and very extended family/friends as well. We were there all day. It was fun to see all the cousins as always :)
Yesterday was back to class, as was today, and will be tomorrow. Thurs & Fri. I'm on the unit and next week it about the same thing.
Basically I sit through 6-8 hours of lecture everyday. Sometimes it's very hard to stay awake. Tomorrow is part 2 of the heart rhythm class, so yeh, I need to go study it so I'm not completely confused tomorrow.

Well, there's more to say I'm sure, but I'll leave it at that. Hope you're all doing well!
