Face Lifts and Triple Bypasses

Well, it's Wednesday. On Moday I hung out with my Chris-ance (like fiance, get it, Casey came up with that). We made an art project for his class, it was fun fun fun.

On Tuesday I went to LaCrosse for my pediatrics orientation.

On Wednesday, today that is, I had my last leadership clinical in LaCrosse in outpatient surgery. I admitted a patient and also went to her surgery for fun. She was an older lady who needed her eyelids opened up a bit, it was very interesing. Let me tell ya people, it's amazing what can be done in surgery these days, with all these crazy things, like lazers that cut skin with a light, weird weird. Then I helped discharge her. It was a short day for us, so that actually pretty much took up my whole time.

After that I was preparing to have a busy night of completing things due tomorrow for my first Peds clinical. However, I laid my head down at 3:48, not expecting to sleep, and woke up at like 5:07 or something! Wow. I woke up to my phone ringing. It was one of my clinical classmates telling me clinical got cancelled for tomorrow due to our professor having a family emergency, yikes. So, now I get to sleep in and have a free day! whoot! I shall enjoy it while it lasts!

A bit later Heather and I spent quality time at Culvers. There was a new girl who made our free kids custards. Insted of giving us the litte cup called a "single" she packed the "double" sized cup from the bottom to the top and then added a few more scoops to make it the size of a "triple" She tried then to add the toppings, which didn't really work, since there was no where for the toppings to go. So, insted of a little cup of custard I got a triple size to go a long with the triple bypass I'm gonna need now after eating about 7/8 of it. I'm also gonna need to up my wedding dress one size, if not two. heehee.

Welp, now I am sitting here and I should really clean my beast of a room, it's so annoying how it gets messy everyday, why can't it just stay clean. Papers and clothes everywhere! Well well well, I hope you all have a glorious remainder of the week and remember that God loves you!

Me Likey Weekends

Hello all.

I was home this weekend and it was a fun time. On Friday it was just Mom, Dad, and I. Gavin was at Acquire the Fire. So, the three of us went to West Fire to have a yummy supper and then we played rummy and Mom won. Chris came to visit after work for a bit. On Saturday I went to lunch with Kelsey at Applebees, it was fun to catch up with her. After that Mom and I went to David's Bridal and picked up the bride'smaid dresses which were already in! We dropped the dresses off for Kellie and Heather. Cara and Megan, I have your dresses whenever you're home! Then we went to Khols and Java Detour. Then it was still Mom, Dad, and I and we had a home-made supper that Mom made very yummy. We then decided to go to a movie: Freedomland. It was pretty good, it kept my interest, but it was a bit strange and sad too. Then Mom and Dad went to get Gavin at church after ATF and Chris and I went to Applebees at about 11:30 to have pop! We ended up being there till closing, which is 1am, and we got our pop for free, yay! We were like hmmm, we should come here really late more often, they give ya free stuff! Sunday morning, today, we all went to church and it was great as always. After that everyone went to the mall, my cousins, Chris, grandpa, my fam, everyone! It was fuuuunnn. We sat there for quite awhile talking and such. Chris went to work later and I listened to Mom and Dad talk about my birth and Mom being pregnant with me so I could write about it for an extra credit paper for Maternity. It was fun to here about it all and look at my baby book. Mom and I ate supper at Culver's later on and were able to see Kelsey and sit with Chris on his break. Now, I am back in Winona and I am alone! Sad. Heather will be here soon though. I had a very fun and relaxing weekend hangin' with my family and Chris. Also, I must say congratulations to my cousin Kellie who made it to the state gymnastics competition in bars and vault. She had to get in the top four at sections on these events and she did it! I love you all and I hope you have a wonderful week!

PS: I think I shall change my blog background and copy my mom's, cuz I like it, heehee.

Hut and Brie's Snowy Adventure

It's a blizzard out there! My clinical got cancelled and so did Heather's field experience/work. So, we went to campus and paid tuition and then walked in the blizzard to Hardees! We actually only had to walk about 2.5 blocks to get there. It wasn't super painful, but the snow was blowing in our faces. Then on the walk back, it was still blowing in our faces. We took the bus back to East Lake and now here I am. I need to study now! It was a huge blessing for clinical to get cancelled. One, because it would have been hard to drive back from LaCrosse, two, because I actually got more that 5-6 hours of sleep (I got 9.5!!!), and three, now I have all afternoon/night to study for my test tomorrow and I won't be falling asleep on my book at 10pm, as I would have it I had gone to clinical. The snow is so pretty though, it makes me happy to live in Minnesota. Yeh, it's cold, but it's so pretty and then we get to look forward to warmth in no time. Welp, I have to meet a friend at the library in a couple of hours so maybe I can get some studying done first. Have a wonderful snowy day everyone!

V-DAY

Happy Valentine's Day! (well it was yesterday)
I had a very very lovely Valentine's Day, obviously, since I have a wonderful valentine named Mr. Lewis. Chris came around 1pm and we had some lunch at Erbs. We wanted to go to a 2:15 movie, which I swear the website said it was at, but it wasn't till 4:00. So, we came back to East Lake for a while and gave each other presents. When Chris walked in earlier in the day he gave me flowers. They are the prettiest flowers I've ever gotten. They're red, pink, and white roses and they smell so incredibly good. They fill up my whole room with the smell of roses, it's awesome, I hope they live forever! haha. Chris got me a very cute fuzzy bear that's holding a frame in which he put a picture of him and I. I thought that was a very good idea, it's so cute! Then I had this big box to open and I had no clue what it was. Inside the huge box, he had hidden a little box that said Fred Meyer on it. I was like, oh man, what did he get me?! It looked like a ring box, so I thought it was a ring. When I opened it though, I saw two things and it took me a sec to realize they were earrings! My first pair of earrings! (aside from the ones I got them pierced with ) They are very very pretty. They're white and yellow gold (I thought you'd like them too mom) with diamonds down the middle. I'm so excited from March, when I can actually wear them! Thank you Christopher! So, later we went to the movie Pink Panther. It exceeded my expectations and was very funny, we laughed a lot. Steve Martin is such a crazy man. Then we tried to eat at Jefferson's and Green Mill, but they had long waits since they're the only nice restaurants in Winona. So, we managed to get a spot at Perkins, which was just fine with me. It was yummy. Chris and I played rummy for a while, but he beat me, as usual! He had to leave way too soon, cuz I had to go to bed early, althought I still only got like 5 hours of sleep! (i had to get up at 4:15!) But, the day with him was very fun as always. I am very very blessed to be with such an amazing man!

Well, here are some pictures for you all to look at!

My week in a nutshell (I don't like that "nutshell phrase", but it was necessary)

Ok, so I'm finally gonna update!

Starting with last weekend, which was very fun....

Kelsey invited all her bride's maids (which includes me) along with Heather and Casey to go to a Mary Kay make-up thingy. We put make-up on under the assistance of the Mary Kay lady. It was fun, we all looked so different! Then Cara and I went to David's Bridal to see what they had for bride's maid dresses. We narrowed it down to three that we liked.

It was very spontaneous, but since all my bride's maids were in Rochester, the next day, I had them all come to David's Bridal to see if we'd get so lucky as to be able to pick out a dress! I found out that my favorite one of the three Cara and I liked did not come in Apple, the color I picked out. However, we liked the dress, so I just had them try it on. Turned out, they all liked it too and it looked good on everyone! I looked at the colors it came in and turns out there was a color called wine that I liked just as much if not more than apple, and it looks very good against my wedding dress. So, they all bought it! I was very excited it all worked out so well and so quickly too!

Then we were looking at jewelry and there are very pretty earrings there that I was saying would be fun to wear on the big day. That lead to Heather, Cara, Megan, Kellie, and Jill surrounding me and peer pressuring me to get my ears pierced as most of them have been doing since I've known them, heehee. Mom, Cheri, and Julie were there too and they were like, c'mon, you'll like it!" Lately I was wanting to do it, but just didn't feel like going to get it done. It was a perfect time to do it with all the girls coming with me. So, all 5 of them, plus Mom and I went to piercing pagoda in the mall. Cindy came down from her kiosk and they all watched it happen. So, now I have holes in my ears! I really like it a lot, they're pretttty. It hurts to sleep on though and I'm very excited to change them in a month.

Next, I went home and people came over for my b-day party! Pretty much my whole family was there, minus a few :( It was so fun to see everyone and hang out. I got lots of cool things, everyone is very thoughtful, thank you thank you! Some people, mostly the guys watched the super bowl while the rest of us hung out upstairs. Cara was there too, which was an added bonus. My gran entertained her with burp/gas stories, oh what a Gran! heehee.

I feel like I did more that weekend at home, but what?? Hmm...Mom and I went to When a Stranger Calls and it was scary!

This week Mon-Now (Friday) has been crazy. I started Monday and haven't stopped. I had two tests today, which I've been studying for in chunks all week. I also had two leadership clinicals, both were 5:15-1:30ish on Wed and Thurs. Which means, I got up at 4:15am, yes am, to go to LaCrosse. It wasn't too bad, the worst part is going to bed early. I have to do the same thing next week as well.

I'm in outpatient surgery for my clinical with one other girl from my class, we all got split up for this rotation. I got to admit and discharge a few people yesterday on my own. One guy was very special, he kept making jokes, but they made no sense, so I just nodded and smiled/fake laughed, but then I started laughing for real at his nonsense. Oh the fun. My nurses yesterday were awesome. The one I was with in the morning had me help her admit someone, then she told me she was going to take a break and that the patient who had just arrived was all mine. So, I did everything but the IV start (cuz I'm not allowed) to get her ready for a foot surgery. Then, I got to help her leave later on. It was cool. Next week, the nurses want me to have all the kids getting tonsillectomies that day so I can see what it's like to have a child patient and talk to their parents too. Maybe I can swipe a real nurses' badge to wear so the parents don't freak out when they see "student" on my badge, yikes.

Today I had my two tests and I think they went well. Then I came back here and slugged around for about 2 hours, got groceries, put them away, ate supper, and now I just got out all my stuff to study/do a take home test for pediatrics. Take home tests are not as easy as they seem...but I guess it's still better than in class. As soon as I finish this blog, I am going to study! Yes, on a Friday night. All my roomies are gone and I wanna do this now so I can relax tomorrow, when hopefully I'll be going to Kellie's Big 9 gymnastics meet. I remember when I was in those.....back in the day......

Ok, better get to my stuff. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Love ya!

I've Been Alive For 22 Years

Hello everybody. Well, my super fun special day is now over. It is February first and it's my first day being 22. Did you know I'm now working on my 23rd year? It's weird to think of it that way, but technically I have now completed 22 years and I'm starting on my 23rd year, making me 22 years old, plus one day. haha. Therefore I am 22 and 1/365ths years old, which is also 22.00274 years old.

Well, yesterday was very fun! I hung out with my fiance all day. We went to Chula Vista for lunch and then bought some food to make for supper. He also got me the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape, which I have been looking for, and we found it randomly at Hy-Vee, go figure. Chris made chicken and homemade mashed potatoes for me, it was yum-mee. He also have me a pearl necklace that matches my pearl ring from Christmas, I feel very spoiled. He is bummed because he has something in the mail somewhere for me, it's backordered or something, but it's ok, cuz now I have something else to look forward to! A little later, Megan, Heather, Casey, and my parents (which was a surprise!) came to the apartment and we had delicious cake that Megan made, because she's so good to me! She also got us icecream! Yum yum. We ate and then made magic wands from a kit that Megan bought, heehee, it was fun, it was like out of the little kid's birthday stuff section at Target, but hey, who says that 20-something year old don't like making magic wands! I know I do! We even got Chris to make one, heehee. I opened presents from the girls and before I knew it everyone was gone too fast and that was that. Chris and I played Rummy and I actually won! Poor guy, I beat his butt, hahah, I'm sure he'll beat me many times in the future though, but hey it was my b-day, it's only right that I win : ) Chris and I also went and got pop at McDonalds just for fun, then we just drove around and talked for a while. I ended my wonderful b-day by watching Gilmore at 1:00am, which I had taped earlier. I think I missed some or something because I can't really remember what it was about. Maybe Hut and Casey will watch it with me later, whoot!

Thank you Momma and Daddy for coming to see your big kid in Winona and bringing me super fun balloons, yipyip, I was so glad you came! Although yesterday they scared me like 20 times cuz when ever I move, the air makes my balloons swish around and I think someone is in the room with me! ahhh! Thank you also for the card and monies, which I already used some to buy pop! Yay! I love guys!!! Thank you for making my birthday possible, hehe.

Thank you Christopher for coming and spending the day with me! For the b-day meals, movie, and necklace too! Thanks for being so goofy and making us all laugh and making me happy all day. whoot whoot. I love you!

Thank you cuzzin for all you did! Thanks for the cake and icecream!!!!!!!! Thanks for the pink socks, face masks, fun chap stick (you know me so well! I just used some too), stickers, bath fizzies, and the wand stuff, heehee. Sorry if I forgot something! Also for the awesome card. I just re-read it and I noticed it CWMPCM (cake maker) and I loled. silly. I love you!

Thank you Huttie for the Sponge Bob coloring book and erasable crayons (it just took me like 10 tries to spell erasable, wow) and for hanging out with us even though you had to write a resume! Thanks for the gorgeous card from you and Ben as well. We need to color now, Bish too, since we have quite the collection of stuff now.

Thank you Bish for the Pony coloring book and the new markers! yes, nothin' better than new markers. Now I can choose between Barbie, ponies, and Sponge Bob, yes, I am 22. heehee. Thanks also for decorating with HUT, you made it all look so pretty!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you also for hanging with us last night!!!!

Thanks to everyone for the happy birthday comments and cards I got here and there! I love you all, thanks for the fun day. Here's some pictures for ya all. They're the ones from my mom, mine are still on my camera in my room and I'm at work, but I think they're basically the same. So, here ya go, enjoy!!!!

Heather, Casey, Megan, Chris, and I, right before
blowing out 22 candles. Chris was very hyper, hence
the dramatic face he's making, silly boy.

Mom, Dad, and Me! Love you!
Notice, Megan's pretty cake.

Megan: "I get a letter!"

Casey loves her physics class, here she
is demonstrating the laws of physics
with a balloon and Hut's head.

Chris was being bad, so I had to set him straight!
Heehee, jk. I'm really not mad, nor is he in pain
but it kinda looks that way in the pic.

All of us making magic wands!!!
Also, Megan thinks she's funny cuz
she put tulle on my head.

I put this on here just so you can all see Chris
in a "special" moment. Also, I think Hut is in
mid-sentence.
