Apple computers are wack

Hello, I am sitting here in the critical thinking computer lab in which I work. So it's pretty cool cuz I'm getting paid to sit here write now and write in my blog, which I deserve anyway, being that my writing is so brilliant, I should be paid for my time spent doing it. heehehe, just kiddin obviously. So yeh, it took me since last January to discover that this old computer that I sit by everyday at work has the internet on it....apple computers are so weird, I guess you just have to get used to them. I had my 3rd clinical today. The resident I work with is so cute and today she was way more fun than last week because she had hurt herself and was in pain. But today she was all jolly and gave me homemade pickles, heehee, that her daughter brought her. They were gross, but I ate them anyway, cuz it's not like I could be "No, I dont' want your nasty pickles!" I'm just not a fan of those kinda pickles that taste like cucumbers. So yeh, we mostly just talked because by the time we get there she's up and ready, which is quite a contrast to the first resident I was assigned to. It's kinda funny because she has some memory loss, so she'll tell me the same thing over and over and I have to keep responding as if I never heard her say it before because she's so excited about it. She got new earings that she won and so she kept getting this really excited look on her face and then tell me all about them, heehee, it's fun, I like it there a lot. I also got a hug from one of the old men in the alzheimer's unit. He just kinda walked over and hugged me, they're pretty funny, they sing a lot too. Oh, also, this really cute old man just kinda walked all around today blowing into his harmonica, he played it for us and for the fish in the aquarium, heehee, sorry, I have lots of nursing home stories. I have more but I'll spare you for now. Well that has been my day so far and now I'm here in the empty computer lab thinking about how I should take my homework out.
Have a splendid Tuesday :)

Oh and one more thing.....

It some how slipped my mind not to mention anything about my uncle Rick!!! Due to an anonymus tip.....It has been brought to my attention that I need to dedicate a blog to him. Well my uncle Rick likes to give me pigs as many of you may know. I now have four pigs from Rick. The first pig made no sense, because I was like....why are you giving me this pig? He explained to me that it was for my "collection" but I never had a collection.....he just decided that I did which is pretty funny if you ask me. So, my uncle started me a pig collection. It's actually quite exciting, because each pig is really differnt and usually pretty weird and I never know when to expect a new one. The first one is pretty normal, it's a little small rubber one with it's nose turned up in the air and it's cute. The second one that I got was actaully wrapped and given to me for Christmas...its is the ugliest...it's this super heavy metal pig painted with white paint with rust spots all over it, but it makes me laugh the most just because it's so gross and peeling apart and that I got it for Christmas, heehee. It's also a bank. Then the third one I got is probably the coolest...it's a little circular brown pig with three legs. It's called a good luck pig...appartenly the fact that it has three legs is lucky? So yeh I think that one is pretty cool. I cannot remember for sure, but one of my pigs might be from a differnt country where Rick visited.....but maybe not, I can't remember. The fourth pig is crazy. It's from Menards and I think it's actually supposed to be a lawn ornament. It's super big and fat. But I love it because it's got it's head up with a huge grin on it's face. The story behind that is my favorite...because I was at work in the kitchen and there's a hole in the wall so we can see out into the front of the store.....so I glanced out there and there stood Rick, starting back at me, proudly holding up the pig for everyone to see. So I had no choice but to go out there and get the pig with the entire restaurant starting at me while he and my cousin laugh at me. So then I had to explain to everyone who was the guy that gave me the pig and why. But it was really funny and I am honored to get pigs from my uncle. Rick is my mom's big brother and he used to give me birthday spankings which scared me, but now I am over it, heehee. He is also a grown man that giggles, which is funny. He calls me Braana which is better than BreeeAAAAAna. So there is my tribute to Rick...not to be confused with my dad Rick. You are a super cool uncle and thanks for my collection?! heheheh.

Whooooooo

Hi everybody. I haven't written in here forever as you can see. My life is extremely busy which is why I usually don't time to write anything. School is hard and it's a lot of work and I'm always behind, but everyone in nursing feels the same. But, I'm slowly getting through it day by day. We started clinicals now and my group is at a nursing home in Wabasha. So, we get leave Winona at 5 in the morning to go there on Tuesdays.....so tonight I will be in bed early!!!! Today was not good, I didn't get enough sleep and basically did the whole struggling to keep my eyes open thing for 2 of my classes. I'm kinda excited to go the nursing home tomorrow, the lady I help out with is really sweet and nice and likes to tell me about her watermelon fields back home, heehee. I actually got a new resident assigned to me because my first one refused help and refused to get up before 11, and we leave the place at 11...soooooo...yeh. that doesn't really work. But so far I havent' had to do much since I don't know how to do much, but we learned vital signs this week, so I may be doing that tomorrow for real. If you ever want your blood pressure checked, just let me know, heheh, it's fun. Labs are pretty fun, they are a nice break from lecture. Last week we had to do this whole stomach feeling thing with a partner to learn how to feel for stuff and I couldn't stop laughing because it tickled so bad....so yeh...I was not a good partner to have :) I just got back from the fall retreat in Wisconsin with Intersarvity Christian Fellowship that I go to here. It was really fun and awesome weather. I got to sing to God a lot which is my fav. thing to do and I also got to climb this super huge tower and jump off on a rip cord, whewwww, it was pretty high. Casey, one of my roomates did it with me so it was way more fun jumping with her. We were like...woooow, that was sooo cool!!! So I got no homework done this weekend whatsoever, but it was worth it. So now I am gonna be psycho studyer this week, it's just the way it's gonna be! But it's okay cuz the main reason I'm here. Here's a cool verse that I like: Have I not commmanded you? Do not be terrified; Do not be discouraged, for the Lord you God will be with you whereever you go. Joshua 1:9. I love that!
K, I gotta go do the whole eating thing cuz it's time and I'm hungreeeeeee. I should make chicken. And then I'm doing homework till fall asleep!!!!!!!!! Thank you and goodnight and if you feel like calling me or emailing me you should cuz it would be fun. Bye! <3 Brianna

I love to read/Tribute to cousins

I'm sorry, this is gonna sound whiney, but I have to read all day long. This weekend I have to read 9 chapters in various text books...that like 2.5 hours for each so that's about 22.5 hours at least...so I was gonna try to do like 12 hrs of it today...i'm still on chapter one so I should be done by 1:00am, yeh right. I'm trying to learn to be a skimmer, but it's hard cuz I feel like I'm missing stuff! Besides all that I am all alone this weekend and it's weird cuz it's so quiet. So I cleaned everything...this helps with the stalling process. I am in charge of feeding Kelsey's fish, I feel so responsible, heehee. I also watered the flowers/plants, this is how exciting I am today, heehee. I also talked to Kellie this morning and I miss her!!! She is my little cousin who is awesome at school and gymnastics and everything else. Have I ever mentioned how much I love all my cuzzins, well I really do, I am very lucky. Ok, I need more slack time, so here are my cuzzin's names in order of age, heehee. Jamey-23, Megan-20, Ryan-17, Kellie-15, Jill-12, Alexandra-10, Sam-6, Grant-2, Jensen-2, and Issac (who is no longer with us but we love him so much). I would like to point out to Megan that I am most definitely bigger and wiser. Also, no matter how big Jamey gets we will remember how he used to play "school" with us and give us pretend math assignments, heehee, and now he works for Target and does things with their website, I can't explain it well, but just know that he is very gifted!! Ryan is just lovely and knows more words than I do, he is also the curse of elvis-and only he understands this, Jill needs help in more ways than one....jpin' Jill, I love ya girl, please come over so I can braid your hair! teehee. Alexandra is one of the nicest people I know and gets big too fast cuz I thought she was still 2. Sam has more energy than anyone I've ever met in my entire existance on earth and sometimes I am afraid for my life when I am around him, but I call him Samantha and he calls me Brian, so yes, despite our age differences, we have inside jokes. Grant is adorable and is a genius child because he spells and reads and knows letter sounds and all that, it's amazing. Jensen is also very adorable and so sweet and is talking and getting hyper now. It's amazing how fast they grow, which makes me feel older. Well, that could have been boring for you, but hey, you read it anyway, ha! Okay I just pushed my reading time back about a half hour, oh well if you're up till 1 you might as well be up till 2. Love ya alls! Adios and go play outside for me!
Also I went to Breathe last night which is a worhip service outside by the big lake, it was awesome! Also, has anyone realized what a beautiful town Winona is? Well it is, come see it when you visit me, winkwink.

She IMs me and emails me and I think that way fun, she even has a blog. She also plays gameboy and watches Days of of Lives everysinge day. She is very good at picking up dog logs, teehee, and making everyone really good food even if she doesn't feel like it. She is also the greatest person I know at making turkey. She is forced to wash lots of underwear also. Sometimes she comes to visit and she alllwaays brings us donuts ever since we were little which was like the highlight of the day. She has the amazing talant of catching flies in her hand and she does many faces such as the beaver and bird face and will do them on cue, heehee. She also likes to shout out RALLLPPHHH when she burps, which she is not afriad to do, and she just makes us all laugh. She is a wonderful grandma and we all love her very much......so gran, I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Oof Dah

Well hello. It's almost 5, I had great plans to be done with a lot by now, but that didn't happen. So, I have been in school now for approx. 2 weeks and it's interesting. One second I am like wow, I can't believe I'm doing this, shoot me now, why did I wanna be a nurse again? But then like 2 seconds later I'm like, man I'm so excited to learn all this and actually get to help people someday. Today in one of my classes the teacher was talking to us as if we were already accomplished nurses fully established in our practice.....so yeh, we had no clue what she was talking about the whole time. My friend next to me started kinda crying, yeh, that's how fun it was. But I figure, it's just new, so we'll get it eventually, it's just a lot at once. I told her that to try to help, but it didn't help......I suck at caring for people!! I quit now!!! just kidding, she's a worrier. Ok, so I few minutes ago I looked at all I have to read this week and next and forever and I decided here and now that I will become an elementary education teacher like Heather because then I get to read fun books...but then I realized I would have to do parent teacher conferences....so that won't work. I am so kidding by the way. But seriously this stuff is overwhelming. However, I do know that the first thing I say to a patient is "Hello Mr. (insert name here), I am Brianna. I am a nursing student and I'm here to help care for you today." I dont' think I can say it like that, it sounds fake. I'll be like Heyyyyyyyaaa, wut up, you look sick, sorry, I know nothing....let me get a nurse. hehehe, jk. After class was fun today. I went to the gym so now I feel more alive and awake, then I ate lunch and I felt very domestic because I actually cooked a potato, yep. Alsooooo......I learned that there is a purpose to microwave safe dishes...... well so I learned something. Then I was FORCED to watch Passions with Kelsey....I was like who can watch this, it's so stupid. But it made me laugh a lot. My favorite part was when they got bit by snakes and the evil man had the "antidote" and he chucked it at the groud so they couldn't save themselves, but of course, Mr. whatever does this amazing 5 mile leap and grabs it at the last second to save everyone from snakes. Jeeeesh. Then I finish the second cd of six of the Gilmore Girls first season on DVD. I used to have a bad attitude about this show, you can even ask Cara (megan, that's my FRIEND cara), but now I think it's funny and addicting. Man, I've done so much since I wrote last...um....I'm in 5 classes all with pretty much the same name....which makes it hard to remember what you are doing and where, but I'll get the hang of it. There are 60 of us nursing students and my group of 10 goes to Wabasha for clinicals in a few weeks, which I think is very random. Turns out they are thinking they'll never actually have 10 patients at one time, so our group has to split up...hmmm... But it's been good here so far. I like my roomies and we have fun. The highlight of my week is that I'm getting my brakes put in on my bike, thanks to Ma and Pa, no more foot dragging, yay. MMMmkay, I am now going to go read, I really will. I hope you all have a good day and your in my thoughts and prayers! adios.

I am way behing in my writitng

Hello, man, I haven't written in this for a while....so it's Wednesday and I wanna write about last Sat, so bare with me, heehee. So, it was my last day of work for the summer and I was on buns. This means I crank up neck up towards a screen all day to see what goes on which bun. Do not be fooled by the seemily simplicity, only a trained professional can do something like this. Anyhoo, Scott (a manager) walked by with flower and said they were for me!!!! I was like no way. So, yeh, I left my bun station heehee, and unrapped em and they were from my friend Chris! So I was super excited. He said they were for me because I'm leaving and all. So I was very touched cuz I thought that was pretty thoughtful. Then people kept asking me all day what that was about. Then, I wanted to get done early and just as I'm about to leave, Bob makes me stay so he can go smoke, yum yum :/ So, yeh then Chris and I went to Applebees and he got bloody steak...barf. But I learned that A-bee's mashed potatoes are super good. Then we were gonng go iceskating, but this is the second failed attempt at that, so I think we are not meant to ice skate, but we'll see. So we went bowling and he beat me, but it was a fluke. MUHAHAHA. Jk. So that was just a fun last day. Then on Sun. my last day home we had a par-tay for my gran and gramps 50th wedding anniversary. It was really fun and lots of people came, but then I had to leave at the end of it to come here to Winona. I did not cry even once this time, so I was excited about that. Now I am here and it's nonstop action so if you think I hate you cuz I don't talk to you as much it's just not true!!!! I havent' stopped doing things since I got here. But I think tonight I get to relax a lil' bit. I bought scrubs today, I feel kinda nurse like in them. I have to go eat pizza now with all the nursing students by the lake. Adios and I hope you all have a wonderful dayyyy! <3 Brianna
